Cookie notice

Last updated: 7 August 2026

This document relates solely to the panka.app website. The Panka application carries out processing of a different nature (squads, matches, ratings) and is governed by separate documents, available in the Legal documents section.

Cookies are small files that a website stores in the user’s browser. This notice sets out the complete list of cookies used by panka.app, stating their name, the party that sets them, their purpose and their duration.

Until the user expresses a choice, only technical cookies are active. Cookies subject to consent are set only once that consent has been given and are deactivated with immediate effect upon withdrawal.

1. Giving and withdrawing consent

On the first visit a banner is displayed with three options: “Accept all”, “Technical only” and “Preferences”. No box is pre-ticked and refusing requires the same number of actions as accepting.

Consent may be changed at any time through the “Cookie preferences” link at the foot of every page. Withdrawal of consent to statistical cookies stops collection immediately, without any need to reload the page.

2. Technical cookies — not subject to consent

Technical cookies are necessary for the operation and protection of the website. They do not require the user’s consent under Article 122 of the Privacy Code and cannot be disabled from the banner.

Cloudflare cookies are set only when the security system is triggered, in particular upon submission of the form and the related Turnstile check.

3. Statistical cookies — subject to consent

The Controller uses Google Analytics 4 to measure the number of visits and the pages viewed. The processing is directed at aggregate traffic analysis: the IP address is anonymised, the advertising features of Analytics are not enabled — advertising purposes are governed by §5 — and the retention period is 14 months.

Where consent is withdrawn, the opt-out mechanism provided by Google is activated and collection ceases with immediate effect. Cookies already stored in the browser may be removed by the user as described in §6.

4. Local storage

The website stores a single item of information in the browser’s local storage. It is not a cookie, it is not transmitted to any recipient and it remains on the user’s device.

NamePurposeDuration
panka-lang-hint-dismissedRecords that the language suggestion has been dismissed, so that it is not shown again on every visitUntil browser data are cleared

5. Marketing cookies — subject to consent

The Controller advertises on Google and to that end uses the Google Ads tag, which serves two functions: measuring the number of users arriving from an advertisement and the resulting conversions, and displaying advertisements relating to Panka again to those who have already visited the website, on Google, on YouTube and on websites in the Google network. The latter activity constitutes profiling for advertising purposes.

These cookies are set only where “Accept all” is selected or the Marketing category is enabled from the preferences. Absent such consent, none of the cookies listed below is set.

NameParty setting itPurposeDuration
_gcl_aupanka.app (Google Ads)Links the visit to the advertisement it came from, for the purpose of counting conversions90 days
IDEdoubleclick.netSelects and measures the advertisements displayed on websites in the Google network13 months
NIDgoogle.comStores the user’s advertising preferences across Google services6 months
test_cookiedoubleclick.netChecks whether the browser accepts advertising cookies15 minutes

The cookies set on the google.com and doubleclick.net domains are third-party cookies set by Google, which for advertising purposes acts as an independent controller under the terms published at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Where consent is withdrawn, the Controller immediately notifies Google that the data may no longer be used for advertising purposes; personalised advertising may also be switched off across all Google services at adssettings.google.com.

6. Removing cookies from the browser

Every browser allows the cookies set by a website to be inspected and removed, normally from the settings under privacy or site data. Removal also deletes the record of the choice made about cookies: on the next visit the banner will be displayed again.

7. Data controller and contacts

The data controller is Panka S.r.l., with registered office at Viale Aldo Moro 16, 40127 Bologna, Italy, VAT and tax code 04398091209, registered with the Bologna Companies Register under no. REA BO-590392. Email: privacy@panka.app. Certified electronic mail: pankasrl@pec.it.

The manner in which data collected through the tools described above are processed is set out in full in the personal data processing notice.
