The data subject may request deletion of their account at any time, without having to give reasons and without having to install or reopen the application. This document sets out the effects of deletion on the data processed and provides the form for submitting the request.
Deletion of a Panka account
Last updated: 7 August 2026
1. Data subject to deletion
| Data | Effect of deletion |
|---|---|
| Profile: name, email address, image, date of birth | Deleted |
| Login credentials | Deleted |
| Push notification tokens | Deleted |
| Issue and expiry dates of the medical certificate | Deleted |
| Records of dues and payments relating to the data subject | Deleted |
| Ratings, line-ups, attendance and match standings | Retained as a historical record of the team’s activity, in a form no longer attributable to the data subject |
| Shared cards | The link ceases to work and the image is removed; copies already sent to third parties cannot be recovered |
| Backup copies | Deleted data may persist in backup copies until those copies expire, after which they are removed from them as well |
2. Time limits
Deletion is carried out within thirty days of receipt of the request and, as a rule, sooner. The data subject is notified once it has been completed.
In order to verify ownership of the account, the Controller may first contact the data subject at the email address used at registration.
The request itself is handled in the same way as any other message sent from the website: it is stored in the database hosted in Ireland and delivered to the Controller by email. It is retained for 24 months solely in order to demonstrate that it has been acted upon, as set out in the website’s personal data processing notice.
3. Notices
- Deletion is final and no restoration of the data is provided for.
- A user who is the administrator of a team must transfer that role to another member before proceeding; failing that, the team would be left without an administrator.
4. Alternative means
The request may also be sent directly to privacy@panka.app from the email address associated with the account, with the same effect as the form set out below.
Together with deletion, the data subject may request a copy of their data and exercise the other rights provided for in Articles 15 to 22 GDPR.
Deletion request
