Local storage and statistics — Panka application

This document is provided pursuant to Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree no. 196/2003) and to Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC. Those provisions govern the storing of information in the user’s device and the gaining of access to information already stored therein, irrespective of whether cookies are involved: an application therefore falls within their scope on the same terms as a website.

It supplements the personal data processing notice for the application, to which reference should be made for the purposes, the legal bases, the recipients and the rights of the data subject.

1. Technical and functional storage

The information listed below is necessary in order to provide the service requested by the user — keeping them signed in, remembering their preferences, allowing the application to operate without a connection — and is stored solely on the device. Under Article 122(1) of the Privacy Code it does not require consent. None of it is used for tracking purposes.

The asterisk denotes a family of entries, one for each team or season.

2. Push notifications

Where the user authorises notifications, a technical identifier (panka_push_token) is stored on the device and, in the web version only, Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging service is used, which generates its own installation identifier and registers a service worker.

The processing is based on consent, given by means of the permission granted to the device and revocable at any time from the settings of the application, of the operating system or of the browser.

3. Usage statistics

Subject to the user’s consent, the Controller measures statistics relating to the use of the application in its web version only by means of Google Analytics 4, in order to identify the features that are actually used and the points at which the service does not work correctly. No measurement tool is integrated into the iOS and Android applications, where no usage information is collected or transmitted.

Consent is optional: it is requested at registration by means of a box that is not pre-ticked, the service is provided in identical terms where it is not given, and it may be withdrawn at any time from the “Your data” section of the application settings. Until consent is given, no measurement tool is activated and no information is transmitted.

The advertising features of Google Analytics and the Google Signals feature are not enabled. The IP address is anonymised. No data capable of revealing health status, no payment data and no content entered by the user are processed. The retention period is 14 months.

Withdrawal of consent brings collection to an immediate end and does not entail the deletion of information already collected, which is deleted upon expiry of the period indicated above.

The choice is also recorded in the user’s profile, together with the date and the version of this document, and therefore applies on every device from which the user signs in.

4. How to delete the information stored

Web application: clear the site data from the browser settings, or uninstall the installed application.
Mobile application: sign out of the account, clear the application data or uninstall it.
Notifications: withdraw the permission from the settings of the operating system or of the browser.
Statistics: turn off the relevant control under “Your data”, in the application settings.
