How to join a team on Panka with an invite code

In short

You need the team’s invite code, which an administrator creates. If you are not in any team yet, after signing in tap “Join a team”; if you are already in one, go to Settings → “Join with a code”. Type the code in “Invite code” and tap “Join the team”.

If the staff has already prepared your card, the app asks “Are you one of them?”: choose your name and tap “That’s me”. You are in straight away, but until the staff confirms that it is you, you don’t appear in the roster, can’t be called up and get no ratings.

What you need

You can only join a team with an invite code: there is no way to search for it by name. Codes are created by an administrator of the team, and each one decides the role of whoever uses it: player, coach or administrator.

You also need a Panka account, and to create one you must be at least 14. Younger players are still part of the team, with a roster card that the staff creates and manages.

If you don’t have an account yet

  1. Open Panka and, on the sign-in screen, tap “Sign up”.
  2. Enter email, password (at least 6 characters), first name, last name, username and date of birth. Tick the box declaring that you have read the privacy notice and accept the terms, and tap “SIGN UP”.
  3. Alternatively, tap “Continue with Apple” or “Continue with Google”: on the “Two more things” screen you fill in username and date of birth, then tap “Create profile”.

At the end you land on “Welcome to Panka”: that is where you join your first team.

Step by step

  1. Open the code field If you are not in any team yet, on the “Welcome to Panka” screen tap “Join a team”. If you are already in a team, go to Settings and, in the “TEAMS” section, tap “Join with a code”.
  2. Enter the code Type it in the “Invite code” field exactly as you received it, with the capital letters and the hyphens: the safest way is to copy and paste it. Then tap “Join the team”.
  3. Look for your card If the roster has cards not yet linked to an account, “Are you one of them?” appears, with each person’s nickname or their first name and the initial of their last name. These are the cards the staff has already prepared: if yours is there, select it and tap “That’s me”. If you can’t find yourself, tap “None of these”.
  4. Or create your card If the invite provides for a new card, “Your player card” appears, with first name, last name and date of birth taken from your account. Check them, add a nickname and a photo if you like, choose the “Position” and tap “Create the card and join”. The value in credits is decided by the staff, who can also change the position. If you are the coach, or you don’t need the card, tap “Join without a card”.
  5. You’re in If the invite doesn’t provide for a card and there are none to choose from, you are already in when you tap “Join the team”. The app opens on the new team. If it is your first team, it also asks “Want to try the demo?”: with “Go to my team” you stay in yours, and you can find the demo whenever you like in Settings.

When the staff has to confirm your card

After “That’s me” the app shows “Waiting for the staff to confirm you are …”, with the name on the card. You are already in the team and can look around, but until the request is approved you don’t appear in the roster, can’t be called up and get no ratings. Tap “Continue” to go in.

The request is approved by an administrator or the coach, in Settings → “Association requests”. Meanwhile, in your “Profile”, under “PLAYER”, you read “Request pending”.

The card becomes yours straight away, with no waiting, in two cases:

  • the invite is personal: the staff created it specifically for your card, and the app shows “This invite is for you” with your name. Tap “That’s me, join the team”. A personal invite works only once;
  • you join as coach or as administrator.

If the request is not approved, “Request not approved” appears in your “Profile”. If there are still free cards in the roster, you can ask for another one with “Link to a player”.

Several teams with the same account

You can be part of several teams with a single account. To join another one you always use Settings → “Join with a code”. If you already have a card in another team, “Import from one of your cards” appears in the card form, copying first name, nickname, date of birth and photo: it is a copy, and value and credits are decided by the staff of the new team.

Each team has its own roster, its own matches and its own standings. To switch from one to another, tap the team name at the top of the screen and choose it in “My teams”, or change the “Active team” in Settings. Both options only appear when you have at least two teams.

If something goes wrong

  • “Invalid or expired invite code.”: the code is wrong, or it has expired, been deactivated or run out of uses. Check the capitals and hyphens again; if it is right, ask an administrator for a new one.
  • “You are already a member of this team.”: you are already a member with this account. If you can’t find it among your teams, ask an administrator.
  • You can’t find your card in “Are you one of them?”: only cards not yet linked to an account and not already claimed by someone else appear there. Join anyway and let the staff know.
  • You joined with the wrong role: the role depends on the code, and an administrator changes it in Settings → “Members”.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the invite code?

An administrator of the team gives it to you: codes are created in Settings → “Invites”, which only administrators can see. It usually arrives in a message that starts with “Join the team”.

Can you join a team without a code?

No: you always need an invite code. Ask an administrator of the team for one, or create a team of your own.

I’m under 14: can I be in the team?

Yes, but without an account: you need to be at least 14 to create one. Your roster card is created and managed by the staff.

I picked the wrong card: how do I fix it?

Tell the staff. If the request is still pending, they reject it from “Association requests”, and then from your “Profile” you ask for the right one with “Link to a player”. If it has already been approved, an administrator or the coach moves the link in Settings → “Players”: they remove it from the wrong card and put it on the right one, in the “Linked user” field.

Do I need a different account for each team?

No: with the same account you can join as many teams as you like, each with its own code, and you switch between them by tapping the team name at the top.
